Featuring one of the finest Civil War collections in the country

Quality Inn is adjacent to the Gettysburg Headquarters of General Robert E. Lee. This historic inn has hosted famous individuals such as General George Patton, President Dwight Eisenhower and Captain Schuford of the USS Gettysburg. Our most recent guests include the last surviving Confederate widow, a Nobel Prize winner and US Congressmen. Their former rooms are available today and their stays created some interesting stories.

This picturesque house was built during 1833-1834 and at the time of the Civil War was owned by the noted statesman, Thaddeus Stevens. It was during three days in July, 1863 that General Robert E. Lee established his personal headquarters in this small stone building.

It was in this house that great men of history pondered the problems before them and made plans for one of the greatest battles of all time. The Battle of Gettysburg lasted three days but the memories of this historical event are displayed in this building: The Gettysburg Headquarters of General Robert E. Lee.
